Boiler Contractor

Install, erect or repair boilers, pressure vessels and related piping.    EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS    Contact the regulatory agency for application procedures. Examinations are scheduled on second (2nd) Friday every month beginning at 8:30 a.m. Written examination required of every applicant. Minimum passing score is 70%. Examination fee of $125.00. Should you fail, you may retake at any future scheduled date.  There are no age, residency or health requirements. Applicant must have at least three (3) years work experience. License are renewable each December 31, with a $100.00 renewal fee. There are no reciprocity agreements with any state.

Responsible for inspecting buildings to ensure they are up to fire control standards. Detect possible fire hazards and issue warnings if buildings are not in compliance.

Underground Petroleum Storage Tank Installer/Remover Contractor

Person or organization who installs, repairs, closes or removes an underground petroleum storage tank for an owner or operator. The non-refundable application fee is $150.00.    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS    An applicant requesting installer/remover contractor certification shall demonstrate experience in installation of three (3) underground petroleum storage tanks and three (3) removals of same.    EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS    Each applicant for certified contractor shall take and pass a written examination administered by the State Fire Marshal's office. Examination fee is $25.00.    SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS    Applicant requesting certification as an underground storage tank contractor must show financial capability through proof of insurance. Minimum $500,000 general liability insurance and a minimum $25,000 pollution liability required. Yearly renewal necessary. No re-examination required unless failed to renew for over one (1) year. Also available "tank liner only" certification and a "cathodic protection only" certification.

Plumber, Journeyman

Engages in the construction, maintenance, installation, alteration, repair, remodeling or removal, and placement of plumbing under the supervision and responsibility of a master plumber.    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS    Must be able to read, comprehend and write.    EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS    You may secure an application by contacting the regulatory agency. Normally the test is given on the third Saturday of February and May and on the first Saturday in August and November, or as determined by the regulatory agency. Type examination, written, drawing and practical. Passing score of 70% is allowed on one (1) phase of the examination with an overall score of 75%. Examination is in the English language. The examination fee is $50.00. Should you fail, contact the regulatory agency.    GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION    Must be a citizen of the United States or have first papers. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. There are no residency or health requirements. You must be of good moral character. Must have two (2) consecutive years experience as an apprentice under the supervision of a master or journeyman plumber. All license are renewed annually by June 30 through the regulatory agency with a renewal fee of $40.00.

Plumber, Master

Assumes responsible charge, supervision, and/or direction of journeyman plumbers and apprentices as well as offers to engage in or contract the construction, installation or alteration of plumbing systems.    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS    Must be able to read, comprehend and write.    EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS    Contact the regulatory agency for application procedures. Normally the test is given once each quarter or as determined by the regulatory agency. Written and drawing examination is given, with a passing score of 75% allowed on one (1) phase of the examination with an overall score of 80%. Examination is in the English language. The examination fee is $150.00. Should you fail, contact the regulatory agency.    GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION    Must be a citizen of the United States or have first papers. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. There   are no residency or health requirements. You must be of good moral character. Must possess a journeyman plumber license for two (2) years and actively employed in plumbing in two (2) of the last five (5) years. All license are renewed annually by June 30 through the regulatory agency with a renewal fee of $150.00.

Certified Monitoring Well Driller

By the use of drill rigs or other drilling devices to construct water wells or monitoring wells.    EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS    Each driller is required to take and pass with a minimum score of 70%, three (3) different tests. One test is for general knowledge of drilling practices, geology and hydrology. The second tests the driller on knowledge of the type of drill rig that will be used. The final test is for monitoring well construction or water well construction.    GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION    Must have worked for two (2) years under the supervision of a certified well driller or other suitable experience or education as determined by the regulatory agency. Monitoring well drillers also must comply with the construction standards of other federal and state regulatory programs. To retain certification must comply with the minimum standards for location, construction and modification of water wells.    CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification)    Must complete and submit documentation certifying completion of three (3) hours of training for certificate renewal. Must be renewed by July 1 of each successive year.    SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS    Non-renewal of the certificate for two (2) successive years may not again be renewed without retesting.
