Dental Assisting

Dental assistants play many important roles, from helping dentists chair-side during procedures to developing infection control protocol and managing dental offices. Graduates can work in private practice, in healthcare clinics, or even for insurance and dental product companies.

The Diploma in Applied Science with a Major in Expanded-Duty Dental Assisting program prepares students for these varied demands, with coursework in both dental care and office management.

The program in dental assisting is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation [and has been granted the accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements”]. The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission on Dental Accreditation can be contacted at (312) 440-4653 or at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611.
