Start your career in truck driving by earning your Commercial Driver's License (CDL): either the CDL-A required for driving heavy trucks and tractor-trailers, or the CDL-B required for driving straight trucks, dump trucks, passenger buses and motor coaches.

Commercial Driver’s License A

AACC has partnered with All-State Career School in Baltimore to offer CDL Class A training. The training consists of one classroom lecture course and one driving range and highway course, which can be completed in 16 days. Testing is done on-site at All-State in Baltimore.

  • $4,444 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition, fees and MVA Class A road test

Commercial Driver’s License B

AACC has partnered with All-State Career School in Baltimore to offer CDL Class B training. The training consists of one classroom lecture course and one driving range and highway course, which can be completed in one week. These courses are approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

  • OCA-595 Commercial Driver’s License Class B

Total hours: 62 

Cost

  • $2,851 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition, fees and MVA Class B road test  

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a good driving record
  • Able to read road signs and maps in English
  • Obtain a CDL driver's permit from Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration
  • Successfully pass the Maryland Department of Transportation physical examination and drug screen

Job Outlook

  • Heavy and tractor trailer truck driving jobs are projected to grow 7.5% in Maryland from 2022 to 2027, a rise from 28,940 jobs to 31,110. The current median wage is $48k, with 25 and 75 percentile earnings of $40,000 and $60,000 respectively
  • Transport and school bus jobs are projected to grow 5.2% in Maryland from 2022-2027, a rise from 11,741 jobs to 12,354. The current median wage is $42k, with 25 and 75 percentile earnings of $37,000 and $51,000 respectively.

Accreditation

Our program is accredited by The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and has been approved by:

  • The Department of Education in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware
  • The Federal Department of Education to participate in Title IV Funding Programs
  • Vendors of The National Safety Council Defensive Driving Programs

It has also been approved for Veterans Benefits. 


Credentials

Upon successful completion of the courses, students earn an AACC Continuing Education Certificate and are prepared to take either the CDL Class A or CDL Class B State road test. Once you successfully complete all the course requirements of the certificate program with a passing grade or higher, submit a Student Application for a Continuing Education Certificate.
