“I most valued the close knit criminal justice at ACC. I was able to transfer all my credits and am employed in the field.”

Criminal Justice (A.S.)

The Asnuntuck Community College Criminal Justice Program provides a broad overview of the field of criminal justice and will prepare students for careers in this field. This program is for students who are interested in a career in law enforcement, corrections, or the legal system. The various courses offered in the Criminal Justice Program provide students with opportunities to explore the different areas within criminal justice, acquire solid academic credentials and gain practical hands-on experience, as well as develop additional skills to advance their career. Courses are taught by faculty members who have had training and experience working in the criminal justice field. The Associates in Science degree will allow a student to pursue a career immediately upon completion or to transfer to a four-year institution. The Criminal Justice Program prepares students for careers in local and state law enforcement, corrections, the court system and services, probation, parole, and other human service professions.

Additionally, ACC has developed relationships with colleges and universities in Connecticut and the Northeast outside of the CSCU system to ensure that our students are able to transfer the maximum number of credits toward their degree. Students are guided through this process by assistance from the Program Coordinator and students are strongly encouraged to meet with our transfer advisor.

Past students have transferred to Central Connecticut State University; The University of New Haven; Western Connecticut State University; Westfield State University; Western New England University; Springfield College.
