Pathway to entry into CCSU’s School of Technology (2.0 QPA required with no grade less than “C”) The Technology Studies–Machine Technology Option provides a solid comprehensive GENERAL EDUCATION in engineering technology, industrial technology, mathematics, and sciences, as provided by the standard Technology Studies program with a concentrated focus on machining technology.  Completion of the entire program with an average grade of “C” provides for automatic continuation at Central Connecticut State University’s School of Technology or Charter Oak State College, where the student can earn a bachelor of science degree in engineering technology, industrial technology, or technology education.

Transfer Opportunities: Completion of the entire program with an average grade of “C” provides for automatic continuation at Central Connecticut State University’s School of Technology or Charter Oak State College, where the student can earn a bachelor of science. Employment Information: The degree enables the candidate to move more effectively and efficiently into a mid to upper level position within the manufacturing sector.

The objective of the Associate Degree program is to provide our students higher level technical skills including computer skills (software & hardware skills, such as, CNC, CAD & CAM, CMM and other manufacturing applications skills); machining skills; higher levels of manufacturing math skills; abstract reasoning skill; measurement skills; and quality control skills.

This Associate Degree enables the candidate to enter the private sector with the skills and abilities to secure employment in many different areas of manufacturing including machine operator, set up and operation of CNC, and Quality Control.  The Associate Degree program also provides the candidate with the basis to move into higher levels of manufacturing processes and management opportunities.
