Non-credit Workforce Training
Program Overview:
The Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology, blood collection procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Program prepares students to take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam.
PROGRAM PROVIDER:
Program is delivered through UM Bitterroot Campus with curriculum that is provided by Condensed Curriculum International (CCI).

Course Dates: April 2nd - June 25th, 2024
Classroom Instruction (140 instructional hours)
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Tuesday & Thursday
9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Saturday (4/6, 5/4, 6/1)
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Tuesday, June 25th
Clinical Externship (80 hours)
Scheduled through CCI following successful completion of CPT exam
Externship may require additional vaccinations, drug testing, and physician statement of health

Program Cost
$2,260 per participant due 2 weeks prior to class start date
Cost includes tuition, textbook, workbook & handouts, laboratory materials, and Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam fee.
Student is required to bring a steno notebook, pen, pencil, highlighter, scrubs, and a watch with a second hand.

Age & Education
18 years of age or over
Must have a high school diploma from an accredited high school, high school equivalency diploma (GED or HiSET), OR qualifying Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) scores

General Requirements
Must have a photo ID
Must have a personal email account which can be accessed frequently
Must demonstrate requisite emotional and mental maturity/health for placement in a clinical setting
Must be able to lift 40 to 60 lbs.
Must complete Health History portion of program application

Visit the Criminal History Online Public Record Sheet Website and under Public Users click on Start Service
- Cost is $20.00. Pay online with eCheck, credit card, or debit card
Within 14 days of your payment, print background check results, and attach to program application *Background check expires after 14 days from your payment
Vaccination Records
Record of TB test results (within past year); contact primary care provider or Ravalli County Public Health Department (RCPHD) at (406) 375-6670 for a current test; RCPHD TB testing is available 8:00am-4:30pm, Mon & Tues, cost is $20.00 (cash or check only).
Record of Tdap vaccination; contact primary care provider or public high school for vaccination records; contact primary care provider or Ravalli County Public Health Dept at (406) 375-6670 if vaccine needed.
