What You’ll Learn

“There is a code for that: W589.22 Struck by a turtle, W61.33 Pecked by a chicken or maybe W55.21 Bitten by a cow. Join us for the journey into the world of medical coding.” – Anonymous

If you are fascinated with the medical field and the effects the process of diseases, conditions, and illnesses have on the human body and you like research, analysis, and connecting the dots, then a career as a medical administrative coder could be for you. Graduates of our program are in high demand and the demand is only expected to increase over time – in fact, many students secure employment before graduating.

Employers are looking for highly skilled coders, which you will be after completing our program. Your specialized training includes medical ethics, records management, medical terminology, human anatomy, health insurance, medical billing, medical transcription, coding, and Medical MS Office Suites. Plus, you’ll have a significant advantage when it’s time to take your certification, as our program follows the curriculum of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). AAPC is the world’s largest training and credentialing organization for the business of healthcare and BTC is the only program in Wisconsin to partner with AAPC.

With a focus on outpatient coding, you will be prepared for a career working in physician practices, large healthcare and allied health organizations such as clinics, hospitals and foundations, insurance companies, medical publishers, research organizations and medical product manufacturers.
