What is Integrated Engineering Technology?

The Integrated Engineering Technology Program is a multi-disciplinary project-based program. You'll learn lean manufacturing concepts that apply to the technical side of IET. You'll also gain professional presentation skills in the workplace.

Lean manufacturing is a production method that increases productivity. It impacts these elements of automated & complex manufacturing systems:

  • Design
  • Installation
  • Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting

Technical instruction consists of but are not limited to the study of:

  • Programmable logic controllers
  • Robotics
  • Various types of mechanical and programmable drives
  • Electronic input and output sensing devices
  • Electro-hydraulic/pneumatic systems and equipment

Opportunities

University of Kentucky 2+2 Transfer Program

This program allows for several exit points for students, including two certificates, Diploma and AAS degree in Integrated Engineering Technology and a transfer option to complete a BS in engineering technology at UK.  

The AAS in Integrated Engineering Technology (IET) Program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Lean Systems Engineering Technology. 

Toyota Engineering Technology Diversity Scholarship

Toyota is investing $1.7 million in underrepresented students who want to earn a degree in engineering.

The Toyota Engineering Technology Diversity Scholarship Fund will provide annual scholarships for undergraduate students to start at BCTC in the Integrated Engineering Technology (IET) program, and after earning an associates degree, continue to the UK College of Engineering to complete a bachelor's degree.

High Bay Dress Code

Because of safety and other concerns in the High Bay Area of BCTC’s Advanced Manufacturing Center in Georgetown, a dress code has been established and will be enforced. This dress code has been established with the approval of the college's administration.

What are my degree, diploma, or certificate options?

The catalog describes the course requirements for completing the credential. Students are required to schedule an appointment with their assigned academic advisor to ensure achievement of their academic goals.

Length of Program

Completion of the program should take two years, assuming that you maintain full-time enrollment status.
