EMS

Emergency Medical Services- offers educational courses that prepare individuals to work as first responders to medical emergencies in the pre-hospital environment.

Three programs – EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic – provide a sequence of “stackable credentials”.  Each course of study leads to a higher level of professional certification and licensure, allowing individuals to move up the emergency services career ladder.

EMS Career Information

Paramedics work for fire departments and ambulance services but are also be employed at ski resorts, on cruise ships, on job sites such as oil rigs, in national parks and medical helicopters. The median annual wage for EMTs & Paramedics was $32,670 in May 2016*
