Aviation Maintenance Technology Program

A Program Designed for You – Fully FAA Certified!

The Aviation Maintenance Technology program will prepare you for FAA Certification, and lay the foundation for an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance, and transfer into a variety of four-year programs.

Aviation maintenance technicians (AMT’s) are the professionals who fix and maintain aircraft. AMT’s repair and service nearly every part and system of an aircraft, including landing gear, aircraft structure and engine systems. AMT’s are also called A&P mechanics because of their airframe and power plant certifications. AMT’s are in high demand and make a higher return on their education investment than pilots, doctors and lawyers.

Information Sessions

Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) Information Sessions are required for all applicants to this program. The AMT Program Director and AMT Recruiter will share up-to-date information about the program and answer questions about the curriculum and the admissions process.  

Information Sessions are held at the Aviation Campus located at the Plymouth Municipal Airport and may take up to 90 minutes which will include a comprehensive tour of the facility and inner workings of the AMT program as well as all programs offered at this location.

Marcus Martins

Aviation Maintenance Technology

Meet Marcus Martins, a student at Cape Cod Community College and the president of the International Aviation Fraternity, Alpha Eta Rho. He's a wiz at fixing planes and is currently enrolled in the school's Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program, which he describes as the "best of both worlds" - it's affordable and packs a punch with the variety and speed of the subjects covered.

Attending East Coast Aero Tech in 1988, Matt received his A&P certificate. Three years later he earned his IA (Inspection Authorization) certification. He served as Director of Maintenance for the family flight school for almost 30 years until it's sale in 2017.

In September 2001, Jim became an AMT instructor at ECAT, and has been teaching aviation maintenance technology in Part 147 schools to the present time here at 4C’s AMT Program.

As a recently retired Director of Systems & Applications Engineering in the semiconductor Automatic Test Equipment field, Mr. Wood has over 20 years of experience in the field of semiconductor new product development and test, while holding roles from Engineering Technician, Electrical Engineer, and Electrical Engineering Management.
