Criminal Justice

If you are interested in a career protecting lives and property, a degree in criminal justice from Casper College may be the answer.

A criminal justice degree can help you find employment not just as a police officer but in many areas at the federal, state, and local levels.

What are the features of Casper’s program?

You will receive a liberal education to help you develop the qualities that are desirable for employment in criminal justice fields including:

  • Communication capabilities
  • Intelligence
  • Tolerance
  • Self-discipline
  • Respect for constitutional values

Your instructors in the criminal justice program either are currently employed or have been employed in law enforcement.

Thanks to the city of Casper’s size and central location you will be exposed to more courtroom trials, local law enforcement departments, state and federal agencies, and the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy.

The A.A.S. degree in criminal justice offers a curriculum which provides a focused education, preparing the student to pursue a career after graduation from Casper College. Although this is an A.A.S. degree, graduates from this program may apply this degree toward an online applied science degree at the University of Wyoming at Casper.

The A.A. degree prepares the student to pursue a baccalaureate degree at locations such as the University of Wyoming or through our University Partnerships program.

Nonmajors are also encouraged to enroll in criminal justice classes as electives.
