Advanced Industrial Technology (AIT) Program

Signal Peak Campus

The Advanced Industrial Technology pathway prepares students to install, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of industrial machinery used in manufacturing settings.  Students gain high-tech skills related to electrical, electronics, mechanics, and computerized systems.

Topics covered in this program include:

  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Fabrication
  • Hydraulics/Pneumatics
  • Welding

Program competencies are based on NIMS (National Institute of Metalworking Skills). Courses include hands on-real world applications and are offered online, hybrid and face to face.  The job outlook for this career is projected to grow 16% from 2014 to 2024 which is much faster than the average growth for all occupations (BLS, U.S. DOL, Occupational Outlook Handbook).  The increased adoption of sophisticated manufacturing machinery is driving this projected growth.
