The Machine Tool Technology department at Cerritos College offers six certificates of achievement:

Along with our six certificates of achievement we also offer a Associate of Arts Degree in Machine Tool Technology. Those certificates are highly sought after as they are the key to a successful career in many industries.

The department has 17 full size CNC machines, including: 4 axis, 5 axis, Automatic Part Loader (APL), Bar Feeder, and a multi-axis turning center which allows for ample student-machine interaction. Students will learn how to interpret blueprint information specific to machining, calculate the appropriate speeds and feeds, create toolpaths using MasterCam software, as well as set up and cut parts on the CNC machines. Once the parts are machined, students are required to produce inspection reports using Verisurf computer assisted inspection software. Students will also learn the basics of robot programming for CNC machines.
