What is Cyber Defense A.A.S.?

The Cyber Defense Concentration will focus on topics in cyber security and digital forensics. The students will learn how to fortify computer networks in order to prevent security breaches from cyber terrorists or other intruders.  In addition, students will learn how to recover data using digital forensics techniques. Students will also develop strong critical thinking skills and will learn by doing within a hands-on lab environment along with real world internship experiences. Required courses are: Digital Forensics,   Network Security and Principles of Information Assurance.  Certifications applicable to this concentration may include CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ among others.

This program is pending accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), which is a leading specialized accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. ACBSP accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels worldwide and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Every quality business program worldwide is accredited.

What is Cloud Computing A.A.S.?

The Cloud Concentration focuses on the design, implementation, management and troubleshooting of computing platforms. Required courses prepare students to acquire, install, configure, upgrade and secure standalone, networked, mobile and cloud-based systems. Areas of emphasis include major industry cloud service providers. Required courses are A+ Hardware and Software, Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems, Windows Server I and Cloud Computing. Certifications applicable to this concentration may include CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Linux LPIC-1 and
CompTIA Cloud+ among others.

This is a technical program designed to prepare students for employment. This program is not a transfer program, although many institutions accept all or part of the coursework toward a bachelor’s degree.

What will I learn?

Utilize diverse disciplines to enhance communication, research, business and technology skills in the workplace. 

Execute programming languages in the process of design and implementation while developing and maintaining software.

Develop effective problem-management and decision-making skills.

Demonstrate various networking media and connections to explain the features and capabilities of networking software. 

Demonstrate skill and knowledge in preparation for industry-recognized certification examinations.
