Our programs at Vista Health, Highland Park Hospital and Condell Medical Center are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. And our program at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital is in the application stage.

EMT course locations

All EMT courses are held at area hospitals or fire and rescue departments. General education course requirements for the degree are offered at CLC locations.

Candidates seeking the paramedic license through our partner hospitals will need to have a valid and current EMT-B or EMT-I Illinois license, and meet all other program prerequisites.

Important financial aid information

EMT A.A.S. as well as EMT-Basic and EMT Paramedic certificate programs are not eligible for Title IV aid. Only students who are eligible for benefits under the Illinois Veteran grant, Illinois National Guard, or MIA/POW or VA Federal Benefits may receive financial aid for these programs.

Career Degrees & Certificates

For students who want to start or shift to a new career or advance in their current career.

You can earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree at CLC in 2 years*. Gain job-ready skills from experienced instructors and earn work-based experience from apprenticeships and internships. Some of the courses you’ll take earn college credit, which can transfer to a 4-year college or university toward a bachelor’s degree.

*Assumes full-time enrollment.

For students who want to earn job skills for entry level occupations, or level up in their career.

Certificates are designed to be completed in less than 2 years. Many certificate programs contain Career Degree core courses so you can continue with additional study or stack certificates to earn an A.A.S. degree.
