Associate Degree Program

Are you interested in protecting society from criminal activity and serving as a role model in the community? With a degree from Delaware Tech, you’ll enter the criminal justice field as a professional with the knowledge and skills to serve society in a variety of ways. You’ll use your good judgment and maturity to deal with members of society from varied backgrounds who are exhibiting antisocial behavior. The Criminal Justice Program at Delaware Tech will prepare you for a respected position in law enforcement, the courts, corrections, counseling, loss prevention, and critical infrastructure protection.

In this program, you will gain the knowledge and skills to prepare you for positions such as:

  • State/Municipal/Town Police Officer
  • Fish & Wildlife Enforcement 
  • Delaware River and Bay Authority Law Enforcement
  • Correctional Officer
  • Criminal Justice Case Manager
  • Work in Residential Treatment Facilities

Program Graduate Competencies

  1. Discuss criminal justice professionalism in the performance of duties.
  2. Articulate the function and interaction of criminal justice agencies and organizations.
  3. Explain interviewing, counseling, or crisis intervention techniques with diverse criminal justice populations.
  4. Apply knowledge of causation and correction to juvenile or adult offenders.
  5. Describe the legal principles of criminal or constitutional law.

Core Curriculum Competencies
