Computer and Electronics Service Technology

The Computer and Electronics Servicing Technology studies include one and two year programs at Delgado Community College that provide the skills necessary to diagnose and repair computer and electronic equipment problems. With the proliferation of computers and electronics in homes and the workplace, qualified repair technicians are in more demand than ever.

These programs are an excellent complement to other computer and electronics related studies such as Computer Network Technology and Biomedical Equipment Repair. Many computer repair technicians will apprentice with a company for a year or two and then start their own business. Others choose to work for large corporations that employ a number of people to keep its systems and electronic equipment running properly.

Research shows that 67 percent of all jobs in the New Orleans metropolitan area now require one to two years of college education -- exactly the kind of education Delgado provides. With an associate degree or certificate in Computer and Electronics Servicing Technology, you can begin a new career or advance in your present one.

The Computer and Electronics Service Technology Certificate of Technical Studies is accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE).
