Students completing the Certificate of Applied Science—CNC Machine Technology will acquire the skills necessary for entry-level jobs in CNC machining. Students will work to attain National Institute for Metalworking Skills credentials (NIMS), complete Haas V-F Series Milling Machine and GUI control setup, and gain knowledge and operations of Mastercam, Gibbs, and G-code. 

Program Details

The CNC Machine Technology program is designed to be completed in two semesters. This certificate includes instruction in CNC (computer numerically controlled) terminology, setup, programming, machining technology operations, troubleshooting, mechanical drawing interpretation, precision machining, lathe and mill operations, computer literacy, CAD/CAM systems, shop and safety practices, equipment capabilities, and regulations and laws. 

Through hands-on training and product creation, students aqcuire skills necessary for entry-level jobs in CNC machining. They also work to attain National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials, complete Haas V-F Series Milling Machine and GUI control setup, and gain knowledge and operational skills of Mastercam, Gibbs, and G-code.
