What is Computer Information Technology?

In-person students will be able to experience IT environments with recent technological investments in the in-person labs at the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Enterprise in Covington, KY topping $100,000. Additional benefits of the program include hands-on experience needed to land an IT job in any industry, faculty with years of industry and classroom experience, individual attention and training with small class sizes, and exposure to employers through industry partnerships and internship experiences. The degree is available in-person or online.

You can choose from multiple certificates or the associate degree in Computer Information Technology. Students choosing the associate degree will choose from one of four tracks: Information Security, Network Administration, Programming, or Cloud Computing Technologies. What are my career options?

Computer support specialists are employed in professional, scientific, and technical services industries, principally computer systems design and related services. Substantial numbers of these workers are also employed in administrative and support services companies, financial institutions, insurance companies, government agencies, educational institutions, software publishers, telecommunications organizations, health care organizations, and management of companies and enterprises. Can I Continue My Education after Gateway?

Yes! Graduates of the Computer Information Technology program have gone on to Northern Kentucky University, the University of Cincinnati, Western Kentucky University, Western Governor’s University and several other institutions. You can go on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Media Informatics, and other related fields.
