Information Technology – Web Development Track

The Information Technology – Web Development track at GTCC is designed for students who wish to start a career as a web developer. This degree focuses on how to make effective websites utilizing current industry standards. In addition to the development of websites, you will learn the importance of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Internet Marketing strategies, and Social Media as a marketing tool.  You will also learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and other languages in an effort to develop websites that are optimized for all devices and browser types.  In addition to the AAS degree in Web Development, upon completion of this degree, students will earn these three certificates from GTCC:  Computer Technology Integration, Web Development, and Internet Marketing & Social Media.

No. All software needed to complete this degree are free to students. You will learn to use several professional computer software applications during the completion of this degree. These are the standard used in the industry.

You will need a PC running the Windows operating system. An Apple brand computer running the MacOS operating system may not support some the software you are required to use.  If using a Mac, please ensure you can dual boot to Windows or use a virtualization application (such as Virtual Box, VMware, Parallels, etc.) for Windows applications.
