Nurse Aide

Certified Nursing Assistants, CNA, are the caregivers who, for the most part, help patients of all ages perform the most basic day-to-day tasks.  CNA’s work under the supervision of a nurse, and since they have extensive daily contact with each patient, they play a key role in keeping the nurse up-to-date on vital information about the patient’s conditions.

This short-term training will prepare you to work as a caregiver in a health care setting such as a nursing home, hospital, or home health care. Learning skills such as obtaining vital signs, building rapport with patients, and monitoring patients will provide the training needed for you to become a valued member of the healthcare team.

Students will be taught by a registered nurse. This program will encompass 156 hours of training approved by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
