Drafting/CADD Engineering Technology

Students listening to the instructorThe field of Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology is for people interested in drafting layouts and building plans.  Graduates have the knowledge and skills to pursue a wide variety of employment opportunities in the design and construction industry, can visualize the way a design could look and manufacture that design for others.  Careers in this field of study include Mechanical Drafter, CAD Operator, Electrical Designer, and Aerospace Designer.

Independence Community College offers Drafting/CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) Engineering Technology in both an Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees and offers plans that can be individually tailored to meet both student and employer needs.

The following is a general course of study for students pursuing an Associate of Science Degree in the area of Drafting/CADD Technoloy, and as such will need to be adjusted for specific situations, and to make a best effort for needs of individual students, each student's best interests will be served through proper advising/counseling in the ICC Engineering Technology Department. Courses of study can be individually tailored through departmental counseling. Many other courses listed in this catalog are suitable for specific situations.

Students wanting to transfer on to four-year institutions need to be aware of the specific requirements for transfer and seek advising/counseling in ICC’s Engineering Technology Department.
