TEAS Exam Dates & Information 2023-2024

Radiography Admission Criteria

Students interested in the Radiologic Technology Program are admitted to Labette Community College on the same basis as other students, but admission to the college does not ensure admission into the Radiologic Technology Program. Students are selected for the Radiologic Technology Program based on the following factors:

1. Previous academic record, high school and/or college, GPA and ACT scores.
2. TEAS Admission Assessment Exam Scores
3. Two personal references, one of which should be from a former instructor.
4. Interview with clinical preceptor at one of the clinical education settings.
5. General education courses that satisfy Radiologic Technology curriculum should be satisfied.
6. Submission of Background Check (For clinical placement only)
7. Interview for applicants with satisfactory scores in the above criteria.
8. Satisfactory physical evaluation, verified by a physician (including immunization records).
9. Signing the Conditions of Acceptance Form.

Radiography Application Procedures

All applications must be completed and received by the deadline found in the Application packet.

Step 1:	Open and print the Application Packet or contact the Health Science Programs’ Administrative Assistant, at (620) 820-1157 or toll free at 1-888-LABETTE (522-3883) ext. 1157.
Step 2:	After reviewing the information, if you are interested in making an appointment to visit our campus, tour the brand new Sonny and Sophia Zetmeir Health Science Building,and discuss program admission procedures, please contact the Health Science Programs’ Assistant.
Step 3:	The applicant should request that a high school transcript (with ACT scores), as well as college transcripts (from all colleges previously attended, unless LCC already has your current transcripts or all classes have been taken at LCC), be sent to the attention of : Admissions Labette Community College 200 S. 14th Parsons, KS 67357 These must be official transcripts--sent in a sealed envelope from the school. Please note that the following prerequisite courses must be completed by the end of the Spring semester before the program begins: General Education Requirements Credit Hours BIOL 130 Anatomy & Physiology  5 ENGL 101 English Composition I  3 ENGL 102 English Composition II or COMM 101 Public Speaking 3 MATH 115 College Algebra 3 PSYC 101 General Psychology or PSYC 201 Developmental Psychology 3 Total 17
Step 4:	Set up a visit through the Health Science Programs’ Administrative Assistant to observe one of our clinical education center affiliates by prior to the deadline.
Step 5:	To take the TEAS exam, create an account with www.atitesting.com and the Health Science Programs’ Administrative Assistant at 620-820-1157 to register for a test date. Test dates can be found in the application packet. Please note that no refunds are available for the TEAS test. The test must be completed by the application deadline.
Step 6:	The following items must be submitted from the Application packet by the application deadline to be considered for program admission. Application Form Clinical Preference List Two letters of reference Clinical Center Interview Form (submitted to clinical site during Step 4) Statement of Confidentiality (submitted to clinical site during Step 4) Letter of Intent (Not included in Packet. Should be a minimum of two pages in length, stating why applicant wants to be in the radiography program.) Criminal Background Check, completed through www.mystudentcheck.com

Those applications whose scores are satisfactory from the above criteria will be invited for an interview.  These will be scheduled two to three weeks after the application deadline. The selection process takes place in April. All program applicants will be notified of the selection outcome by May 1st. Classes begin in June.

If accepted into the Radiography Program, a history of immunizations, a receipt/record of updated shots, a physical, and a copy of health insurance verification will be required.

The student must take and pass a course in CPR certification for Health Care Professionals or submit a copy of their current CPR for Health Care Professionals card.

To complete the application for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Examination, the question

"Have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor?" Yes___ No___

must be asked and answered. Falsification of information is grounds for dismissal from the program. (Note: A conviction of, or plea of guilty to, or a plea of nolo contendere to an offense constitutes a conviction for A.R.R.T. purposes.)

If you answered "yes" provide explanation and official documentation. If, at any time during your attendance in the Program, the answer changes to "yes", it is your responsibility to inform the Program Director.

Transfer Student Policy

1. The Radiography Program will consider accepting a transfer student from another program if that student can document their acceptance and satisfactory performance in the program from which they are transferring.
2. The transfer student must be in good standing with the previous program.
3. The student must provide references from the previous program.

Transfer Student Procedure

1. Acceptance of a transfer request will be based on the availability of an opening in the class into which they wish to transfer.
2. The student must have their previous academic and clinical performance records sent to LCC by their previous school prior to being accepted as a transfer student.
3. The student will also be required to take the semester Comprehensive Examinations that have been given in the Program to date. They must pass the comprehensive examinations in order to continue on in Labette Community College’s program.
4. The student must also complete all program Clinical Competencies before they will be allowed to graduate from LCC.

Students attend clinical and /or classes year-round (Summer included). The first summer you will be in the classroom Monday through Thursday. Starting in the Fall Semester of your first year you will be at the Clinical Education Center two days a week for 10 hours each day, and you will have classes at LCC the other two days a week with Fridays off. This schedule will last throughout the program.

Program Effectiveness Data

Radiography Program Tuition & Fees

The approximate cost for the 23-month curriculum is $11,200 -$11,900 for instate tuition and fees, and out of state tuition and fees will be approximately $12,700-$13,400. Textbooks for the program will cost approximately $1000.00 for the first year and approximately $600.00 for the second year. You will also need to purchase uniforms for the program in which an amount to cover the expense of 2 tops, 2 pants and 1 jacket are included in the Radiography Student Course Fee's. Extra Radiography Program uniform pieces may be purchased but are an additional financial responsibility of the program student. There will also be expenses for traveling to and from LCC and to and from the Clinical Education Centers.
