Early Childhood Education

Program Description

The Early Childhood Education program at Lake Region State College is designed to prepare students to work with children in a variety of settings.

The two-year Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education helps students to operate nursery schools, become employed by Head Start programs, and work as paraprofessionals in public education classrooms. Along with courses in Early Childhood Education, students complete a variety of courses to fulfill general education requirements and build a solid educational background.

The certificate program is designed as a one-year, fast-track program to prepare you for immediate entry-level employment working with young children in group settings such as child care centers or for starting a home business as a family child care provider.
