Automotive Technology

MCC-Longview's automotive training programs are accredited by the ASE Education Foundation at the Master Automotive Service Technology (MAST) level. Our instructors are ASE Master Certified Technicians. You won't find better automotive technology training anywhere!

Our testing equipment is state of the art. Our facility is bright, spacious and stocked with tools, equipment and components. We keep a fleet of more than 40 late-model cars for students to train on. Our reputation is solid: area employers know and respect our program. They come to us for the best entry-level technicians.


Specialized programs

Ford Asset

The Ford ASSET (Automotive Student Service Educational Training) program is designed for students who are interested in beginning their career path at a Ford or Lincoln dealership. Learn more about the Ford ASSET program.

GM/ASEP

The General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) is designed for students who are interested in beginning their career path at a General Motors dealership or an AC-Delco TSS service center. Learn more about the GM/ASEP program.

Collision Repair

Collision Repair is a new program at MCC.  It is designed for students who are interested in entering this high demand field that earns above average salaries in the industry.  Learn more about the Collision Repair degree and certificate options.

Early College Academy Automotive Program

High school students can take auto classes at MCC to complete their degree early. High school juniors across the Kansas City area can launch their automotive career early at MCC-Longview. At the two-year Early College Academy you earn credits in one to two auto classes each semester. Learn more about the Early College Academy Automotive program


How to apply

Students who wish to enroll in classes which count toward the general automotive or collision repair programs or ASE test preparation should follow the steps shown below:

  1. Complete an online MCC Admissions Application and submit high school and/or college transcripts to: MCC Student Data Center, 3200 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111
  2. Take the placement test for math, reading and/or English (or submit ACT scores)
  3. To determine financial aid eligibility complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

Entry into either the GM ASEP or Ford ASSET programs require additional steps before a student is approved. If a student is applying to GM or Ford, add these steps:

  1. Take the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude test (available only from the MCC-Longview testing center office).
  2. Schedule an interview with the GM or Ford instructor to evaluate Bennett scores and a review of their GM or Ford application.
  3. Upon acceptance, students will interview with a sponsoring GM or Ford dealership.
