Assist During Operations as a Surgical Technologist

This clinical, hands-on program, offered on the Harrison County Campus beginning each summer, is an intensive program that prepares students to enter operating rooms as a surgical technologist. Following successful completion of prerequisites, this one year program  leads to an Associates of Applied Science Degree. As a surgical technologist, you’ll assist physicians, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses during operations. Surgical Technologists are well-paying positions, and the industry is growing.

Program Overview

Students in the Surgical Technology Program attend regular classes; experience hands-on labs in our two-room Operating Room Suite; and train in area hospitals, operating rooms, and outpatient surgical centers. We provide students the skills and knowledge to function as members of a surgical team.

Graduates will be eligible to take the national certifying examination to become certified surgical technologists.
