Degrees
Each area of the curriculum provides entry-level skills to prepare you for industry certification in your chosen field. You will design the images and digital media that are essential to creating visually appealing websites, and then master databases and programming in order to power your websites. Whether non-profit, for profit, B2B, B2C, and beyond, you will be able to create impactful web design that communicates the mission of an organization while also choosing intentional elements that provide a seamless user experience.
NCTC’s Web Development curriculum has been developed with the assistance and advice of the Business & Industry Leadership Team (BILT) which is composed of service area industry professionals. This guarantees that our students will have access to the most intentionally planned curriculum available to them in our region.
You may earn a Level 1 Certificate from NCTC. The Web Development Certificate itself does not transfer except as part of the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Computer Information Systems and Technology. This AAS degree will transfer to several North Texas universities through AAS to BAAS transfer programs. This ensures that the credit hours you have invested in won’t be lost in the transition.
Please note that before entering this program, you must be able to keyboard at a minimum rate of 40 words per minute (WPM) as a prerequisite. Those who cannot meet this requirement must take a keyboarding class to improve their skills prior to enrollment.

Level 1 Certificate
This certificate can be completed through a mix of face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes. The program takes one year to complete. Upon completion of the Level 1 Certificate, students will be able to:
Design and implement a dynamic website.
Communicate technical issues related to web design through presentations and reports.
Courses and credit hours (#) required to earn the Web Development Level 1 Certificate.

Capstone Requirement: Students completing the certificate must pass a comprehensive program exam with a score of 70% or higher to satisfy the capstone requirement. Exam must be scheduled with the Division Chair.
