PROGRAM
The Health Care Assistant Program is one semester (approximately 4 months) in which graduates are awarded a certificate of completion. Upon receiving the Health Care Assistant certificate, graduates are qualified to sit for the Mississippi State Certification for Health Care Assistant. Certified Health Care Assistants are qualified for employment in the Mississippi Health Care Industry in a variety of settings. These include opportunities as Health Care Assistant, Long-term Care Assistant, Home Health Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant and Personal Caregiver.

Please note nursing licensure/certification vary from state to state. The NWCC Health Care Assistant program has not made a determination on whether the certificate of completion meets the state educational requirements for other US States, Territories, or the District of Columbia.
