REGISTERED NURSING

Program Overview

The registered nursing program is designed to prepare students to provide nursing care in a variety of healthcare settings and for licensure and employment as a registered nurse. The four-semester program incorporates interactive face-to-face classes, web-enhanced classes, labs, and clinical experience to prepare students to function as a member of the healthcare team.

All full-time RN nursing faculty have a master’s degree in nursing or higher and many are nationally Certified Nurse Educators through the National League for Nursing

Nursing faculty are available to advise each student as they progress through the program. Successful completion of the program prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nursing (NCLEX-RN), which allows the graduate to practice as a registered nurse. There are also opportunities to transfer into a four-year degree program at partnering institutions.

The registered nursing program at Northwest State Community College meets the state education requirements for a registered nursing license in the state of Ohio.
