Engineering, Manufacturing and Welding Courses

PHSC’s Engineering, Manufacturing and Welding courses are designed to prepare students for exciting careers in the growing field of engineering. Students may select from a variety of individual courses to prepare for certification exams or choose a certification program that may be applied towards the associate degree. To determine the best pathway to success based on their interests and career goals students should consult with an Academic Advisor.

The opportunity may be available for Career and job training scholarships.

Spring 2024 (2024-2) Individual Course Schedule

Certified AutoCAD User

Course: NCI0020-0305 (virtual)
Dates: Jan. 23 – Feb. 29
Days: Tues., Thurs.
Time: 6 – 9 p.m.
Hours: 36 (remote access)

Description: This 6-week course covers the basic and more advanced design skills needed to create site and building layouts and will provide a solid working knowledge of computer-aided drafting software that is used by interior designers, architects, and engineers alike.  Upon successful completion of this course students will be prepared to sit for the Autodesk AutoCAD Certified User exam to gain industry certification.

Certified AutoCAD Professional

Course: NCI0021-0306 (virtual)
Dates: Mar. 12 – Apr. 25
Days: Tues., Thurs.
Time: 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Hours: 54 (remote access)

Description: This 7-week course is an advanced and professional level credential for Autodesk AutoCAD software users who possess an extended amount of real-world experience and extensive knowledge in AutoCAD. Autodesk also requires a minimum of 400 hours of seat-time to build the skills needed to sit for testing for this certification. 

OSHA 10 Safety Certification with Digital Badge

Description: This 2-day OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry certification training course is designed to provide an entry level construction worker’s general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction work site. Students will gain an understanding of safety in a construction setting and will be prepared to earn their OSHA 10 Construction certification by the conclusion of the class.

OSHA 30 Safety Certification

Description: This 5-day OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry certification training course is intended to provide a safety minded, advanced, construction worker’s general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site.  Students will gain an advanced understanding of safety in a construction setting and will be prepared to earn their OSHA 30 Construction certification by the conclusion of the class.

Steps to Register
  1. Visit PHSC Continuing Professional Education Course Registration website.
  2. Select the current term in the drop-down menu.
  3. Select Continue, then select Continuing Education.
  4. Select Course Type.
  5. Select Search.
  6. Select the desired class shopping cart icon to add it to the shopping cart.
  7. Select View Cart to display the course selection, view fees, etc.
  8. Proceed to checkout, enter your student ID number for existing students or your social security number; follow the prompts to receive a student ID number.
  9. Complete the online payment.
