Program Purpose:

This program is designed for those seeking employment in an industrial electrical-related field or those seeking to become an entry-level residential, commercial, or industrial electricians.  It will also provide updated training for those currently employed to increase their knowledge.

What will I learn?

Students successfully completing this program will be able to…

• Show knowledge of circuit design, current flow and power dissipation.
• Interpret schematics drawings.
• Identify purpose/ location of components and protection devices.
• Use varied test equipment to measure voltage, current and resistance.
• Show knowledge of electrical/other controls.

How long will I need to be in college?

A college-ready student can complete this career studies certificate in two semesters.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will possess the knowledge and skills required for various careers such as:  industrial or residential construction electricians, industrial or residential maintenance electricians, and repair technicians.
