Plumbers install and repair water, drainage, gas, and other piping systems in homes, businesses, and factories.

You can choose from two education delivery options currently offered at select campuses:

  1. Hybrid Program – Lecture online, labs on campus
    Offered at: Bridgeport CT, Hamden CT, New London CT, and Waterbury CT
  2. On-Ground Program - Lectures and labs on campus
    Projected* to be offered at: Hamden CT and Waterbury CT
    *On-ground availability is anticipated for classes beginning 5/28/24. Should on-ground classes not be available, students could begin the program following the hybrid delivery schedule.
  • Graduates earn a diploma

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS

This program has been approved at the CT campuses for the 720 related instruction hours required for the Connecticut P-2 license.  Students must achieve a 75 or better in a course for the instruction hours to count toward their “related hours”. Candidates also need to accrue 8,000 hours of work in the field prior to being able to apply to sit for the licensing exam. 

Students have the opportunity to earn their OSHA 30 certification.

Delivery of Hybrid Instruction

On Campus Labs

  • Campus Lab Hours Day Program: 9am - 3pm
  • 2-3 Lab sessions per week, based on course needs
  • Campus Lab Hours Evening Program: 5pm - 9pm
  • 2-3 Lab sessions per week, based on course needs

Online Learning

  • Students will need approximately 30 hours per week for instruction, activities, labs, reading assignments, and homework
  • All materials are accessible in an asynchronous format 24 hours a day/7 days a week
  • First week includes acclimation to the systems

Delivery of On-ground Instruction

Classes in the on-ground option meet Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at select campuses only.
