Power up your career with SLCC’s industry-based Electrical Training Program!

In this 300 hour-course, you will learn the skills to be a residential and commercial electrician, including practical application of electrical systems: voltage, current, resistance and power, computer circuit sizes for installation of branch circuits, feeders, and service entrance conductors according to electrical codes.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Credentials earned:

• NCCER Core
• NCCER Electrical 1
• NCCER Electrical 2
• NCCER Electrical 3

WHEN/WHERE: 

• Opelousas (6 months): TBD (evening class).
• Lafayette (5 months): TBD (evening class).
• New Iberia (6 months): June 3 - October 22 (evening class).

REQUIREMENTS:

• 16+ to take course
• 18+ to apprenticeship
• No High School, GED or HiSET required.*

*A high school or HiSET diploma is required for most financial aid grant applications.
