What is Collision Repair Technology?

This artistic program provides intensive instruction in the refinishing and restoration of automotive vehicle bodies, interiors, and frames. Students master skills in taking a damaged or aged automobile, often one of life s most expensive investments, and recreate it into a beautiful piece of art that is as safe to drive as it is appealing to the eye. You learn about materials used in colors and chemicals of paints, welding and cutting, filler compounds, design and installation of trim, cost estimating, and preparation for finish work. Students gain exposure to the latest technology and applications needed for collision repair, including use of such materials as fiberglass, plastic, aluminum welding, and water-based materials.
