Criminal Studies

Program Description

The Criminal Studies curriculum is designed for students who have chosen a career in criminal justice and who wish to transfer to a senior college or university to pursue a four-year degree.

The courses in this degree program area are designed to introduce students to a variety of criminal studies career options. The Criminal Studies degree will prepare students for entry-level positions in social sciences to include social services, adult protective custody, child protective custody, law enforcement agencies, courts, and corrections as well as many more rewarding public service opportunities. Students can expect a mix of traditional classroom experiences as well as on line learning. A student can choose to obtain a criminal studies degree totally online. Students should consult with their advisors to help plan their programs and ensure general education competencies are met prior to graduation.

Potential employment for students who complete the above coursework and acquire their degree include, but are not limited to Police Officer, Bailiff, Fish/Game Warden, Crime Scene Investigator, Private Security Officer, Correctional Officer, or Court Officer.
