Programmer

Programmers write code that instructs a computer to perform data-based tasks to support an organization. Programmers work at software companies, insurance and financial industries, in health care, or in manufacturing. Programmers with key skills are in big demand for jobs with lucrative pay. This program includes 7 key IT classes that cover the core knowledge of programming, and provides a pathway to earning the Associates Degree option in Programming.

Programmer - PROG.COC

Successful completion of the following required courses would prepare the student for employment as an entry-level programmer. The numerous programming languages give the student a wide variety of potential employment opportunities.

All entering CIT majors taking one or more CIT courses will be required to have their own laptop that satisfies certain minimum specifications. Click here for a list of laptop specifications.

Upon the successful completion of requirements for this program, a Certificate of Completion in Programmer will be awarded.
