Industrial Safety

Learn how to keep your team and yourself safe!

The purpose of this endorsement is to respond to the needs of the employers we serve and to provide a standardized approach to demonstrating that students have mastered the skills necessary to work safely on the North Slope. To be admitted into the program, a student must have earned a high school diploma or GED. Additionally, a current First Aid/CPR and NSTC certificate are required, or, alternately, the student must have successfully completed the classes, taught by a certified provider, before completion of the program.

You will walk away understanding that safety is a “culture” serving as the foundation to safe operations in the workplace.

Licensure & Employment

Almost all of the Industrial Safety courses result in an industry recognized or regulated credential. Every course and credential is unique. For individual course credential requirements, contact the Workforce Development department at workforce@ilisagvik.edu.

The National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) credentials are used for topics available. NCCER credentials are recognized by employers and used in hiring preferences and/or career ladder advancement.
