Associate of Applied Science / 63 credits
Program Description with degrees that can be earned:
The Administration of Justice program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the Administration of Justice career field (law enforcement, courts, corrections and private security.) A student who completes 60 credits of required and elective course work is eligible to receive an Associates in Applied Sciences Degree in Administration of Justice. Courses are also designed to support the in-service training needs for current justice professionals. Law Enforcement professionals who successfully complete 12 credits of AJ course work at Students at UH Maui College are eligible to receive up to 21 additional credits for completing accredited police or corrections recruit training as required by government agencies.
The Administration of Justice program serves the following broad purposes:
- To provide general academic knowledge, concepts, and theory pertaining to the criminal justice system.
- To meet the pre-service needs of those preparing for careers in law enforcement, corrections, private security, or other fields related to the administration of justice.
- To meet various in-service education and training needs of professionals currently working in the administration of justice.
Length of Program
Enrolled Administration of Justice majors who complete 15 credit hours of required coursework can complete this program in 4 semesters or two years.
