Criminal Justice: Advanced Foundations Career Studies Certificate

Purpose: The Career Studies Certificate in Criminal Justice: Advanced Foundations of Criminal Justice provides an overview of advanced foundational topics related to criminal justice. This curriculum is designed to provide a broad, yet advanced, educational foundation, which will prepare graduates for employment in numerous criminal justice related occupations.

Program Objectives:  Employment opportunities exist in a wide variety of areas: uniformed officers for local, county and state police agencies; enforcement/investigative officers for federal government agencies; corrections, retail and industrial security, probation/parole, insurance work and private investigation.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the requirements for admission to credit-level coursework established by the college.

Placement Requirements: Students who do not demonstrate readiness for college-level English will be required to select appropriate EDE 10  or ENG 111 /EDE 11*  coursework in consultation with an advisor.

Program Notes: All required courses also apply towards the AAS degree in Criminal Justice.
