Program Description
In today’s world, technology drives business, and people who build technology are leading the race to the future. The Java Development & Programming program is the stepping stone to your future. Java is a global standard for mobile apps, games, web content, and business software. Java programmers work in many industries creating, implementing, testing, and maintaining software applications. Learning how to program not only lets you master technology, but it also enhances your critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content needed to prepare for a bright future in the Information Technology sector, armed with higher-order reasoning, technical, and occupation-specific skills.
Students must have access to a computer with an Intel Pentium Core i3 processor or higher, 8GB of memory, and 500GB of hard drive free space. The coursework and applications used for training are compatible with Windows 7 or higher and/or Mac OS X 10.6 or higher.

Admissions Requirements
- Schedule a basic skills assessment ($15) or provide official documentation of a basic skills exemption to your program counselor/advisor.
- Schedule an appointment with your program counselor/advisor for basic skills assessment results and/or a program specific orientation.
- Register for classes during open enrollment. Program registration runs on a first come, first served basis.
