PROGRAM EARNS NATIONAL HONOR

Parkland College earned the annual Merit Award from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Parkland's Surgical Technology program received the award for achieving a 100 percent graduate pass rate on the national certification exam for surgical technologists during the 2020-2021 academic year. The CST exam is the only fully accredited examination by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies for surgical technologists in the nation.


Join Our Program

Train to become a surgical technologist, providing crucial assistance to surgeons who care for patients before, during, and immediately after surgery. You will become knowledgeable in anatomy, microbiology, and pathophysiology, learning to "think like a surgeon." You'll complete rotations in surgical specialty areas as you study in up-to-date labs, classrooms, and area clinics/hospitals.
