Macomb’s Veterinary Assistant Program prepares you to become a valued member of a veterinary health care team, qualified to assist in the care of animals at a veterinary hospital or clinic. After completion of four modules and a 100-hour internship, you will receive a Workforce and Continuing Education certificate of completion and be eligible to take the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) Approved Veterinary Assistant Exam, administered onsite. Participation in both an informational meeting and a program orientation prior to the start of classes is required.
With a Certificate of Completion from Macomb’s Veterinary Assistant Program and passage of the NAVTA Approved Veterinary Assistant Exam, you will be qualified for positions that include veterinary assistant and animal care provider.
