Before You Enroll, Think About:

  • Electric line work includes some risk because linemen often work at great heights and with high-voltage electricity.
  • When natural disasters cause extensive damage to electric lines, linemen must work quickly and in potentially inclement weather to repair lines and restore electricity.
  • Line installers and repairers do physically demanding work.

  • Experienced line workers can advance to more complex repair positions and become responsible for increasingly large portions of the network.
