The Cleveland Community College Electrical Line Worker Academy prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and certifications that public and private utility companies, electrical contractors, and telecommunication companies require for entry-level jobs. Electrical line workers install, repair, and maintain electrical power distribution and transmission systems. Being an Electrical Lineman is a rewarding career that requires highly-skilled employees who enjoy working outdoors, traveling, and working in a team environment where safety is first. This is a 10-week Academy that upon completion students will earn a T&D PowerSkills Powerline Worker, Pole & Bucket Rescue Certificate and other credentials that will prepare them for a career in the power utility industry. Upon passing the Department of Motor Vehicles examination given on campus, a student can earn a CDL Class A, “O” restriction license for the state where they have a valid CDL Permit.
