Studying radiology at Austin Community College can provide a window into life-saving diagnoses. You’ll use advanced equipment to develop extensive knowledge of patient care, anatomy and physiology, image production, radiation protection, and procedures. This program offers an associate degree with the opportunity for advanced certificates in cardiovascular intervention, magnetic resonance imaging, and cardiovascular interventional technology.
Cardiovascular Interventional Technologists work with sophisticated fluoroscopic equipment to take images of the heart and surrounding blood vessels. Technologists assist with procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, embolization, ablation, and biopsies. Students who successfully complete the didactic and clinical portions of the program will be eligible to write for the ARRT CI exam. The CI credential will enable you to qualify for positions in cardiac catheterization laboratories nationwide.
