Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate

Medical Laboratory Assistants are aiding Medical Technologists in their performance of patient laboratory testing. By learning the necessary skills and techniques required to understand the reasoning and theory behind the testing, they are more capable of providing accurate test results and are able to allow Medical Technologist's to focus more closely on the more complex testing. This program would teach them skills in phlebotomy, instrumentation, maintenance and calibration, inventory management, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and specimen preparation for testing. Prerequisites must be passed with a C or better in order to be admitted into the program.
