Pharmacy Technician Certificate

This certificate prepares students to work as a pharmacy technician under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Students will develop the skills and knowledge required of a pharmacy technician including filling prescriptions, proper storage and handling of medication, and professional customer service. Program Outcomes
Students who complete the certificate will be able to:

employ basic knowledge of law and ethics as they pertain to a pharmacy setting;
perform mathematical calculations used in filling prescription orders;
apply appropriate medical terminology for a pharmacy setting;
provide quality customer service through clear communication, sensitivity to customer needs, and maintenance of confidentiality;
demonstrate knowledge of drug classifications and common drug interactions; and
explore pathways and demonstrate preparedness for educational and career development in the student’s field of study.
