Think Seriously About These Questions

  • The Radiologic Technology Program includes prerequisite coursework in anatomy and physiology, plus medical terminology and pathophysiology courses.
    • Are these courses of particular interest to you in terms of your career goals?
  • Why do you want to pursue a career as a radiologic technologist?
  • What do you think the daily responsibilities are for a radiologic technologist?
  • Our program is demanding—many class assignments, strict deadlines, long hours, travel to clinical rotations, etc.
    • What strategies do you plan to use to be successful academically in our program?
  • The clinical portion of the program requires travel to hospitals and imaging centers.
    • Do you foresee any problems with this requirement?
  • Constructive criticism is a necessary and essential element of our entire program to help you develop your skills as a radiographer.
    • How do you react when you receive constructive criticism from others?
  • How have you managed a situation in which you had to interact with a person who was difficult to get along with?
  • Patients having x-ray examinations at a hospital can be challenging due to factors such as blood and body fluids, communication difficulties, or movement difficulties. They may not be fully conscious. They may not speak English.
    • How do you feel about learning to perform x-ray exams on patients with these challenges?
