Students who receive this A.A.S. in Information Technology (IT) concentration will have a broad technical knowledge and a specific application programming skill set used in the Mobile Application Development areas. The curriculum is designed to maintain maximum flexibility in order to compete in the changing workforce. 

Students who graduate with the Mobile Application development concentration can expect to find employment as an application developer, software engineer, applications system analyst, user interface designer, etc. 

Mobile Application Developers design and create mobile applications. They are responsible for the look and the interaction of the mobile application. They are also responsible for the technical aspects, such as performance and how much traffic an application can handle. 

Program Learning Outcomes:

  1. Utilize industry-standard mobile programming languages to create applications. 
  2. Utilize mobile programming frameworks and libraries with proficiency. 
  3. Apply design and development principles in the construction of mobile applications. 
  4. Collaborate with team members on projects, working to develop mobile applications from design through production to release. 
  5. Formulate comprehensive application design, incorporating frontend and backend infrastructure 
  6. Apply appropriate best practices in mobile application development including test-driven development, source version control, and app store deployment procedures. 

Admission Requirements

The college adheres to an open admission policy which means applications with a high school diploma or GED are eligible for admission. Applicants with neither a high school diploma nor GED may be admitted on a conditional basis.
