EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

On-the-scene, immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations such as automobile accidents or heart attacks is critical to most communities. We need health care professionals to stabilize the sick or injured person and then transport them to a medical facility. Our Emergency Medical Services program will train students to provide emergency care to the critically ill and injured at an emergency scene.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Emergency Medical Services Program is to provide comprehensive educational training to students that will enable them to provide basic and advanced emergency medical care and transportation to the injured or sick patient in the pre-hospital setting. Students who complete the program will receive a Technical Certificate of Credit and are eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) cognitive and psychomotor certification examinations.

*NOTE: Paramedic students must hold a current certification and/or licensure as an: EMT I/85 (with successful completion of Georgia State Office of Emergency
Medical Services and Trauma (SOEEMST) EMTI to AEMT update course); EMT I/99; or AEMT.
